What is Anchor Circle ?

For many teens and young adults, facing the storm alone can feel daunting and overwhelming. Anchor Circle is a safe space for processing life's challenges. Today's teens and young adults struggle with belonging, self-confidence, and meeting their developmental milestones. They experience the pressures related to a constantly shifting peer culture and often avoid the life experiences necessary for healthy maturation. This avoidance, along with social media and peer influences, can often have a negative impact on mental health and wellness.

Anchor Circle was developed to meet the needs of individuals who require more support as they navigate these life transitions. Weekly groups are aimed at helping individuals build the capacity to manage life's expectations with guided facilitation from seasoned experts. The online format is not only convenient for its participants, but also provides it in a format that is quite natural to this generation.

Who do we Serve?

Our Vision

Anchor Circle is dedicated to supporting teens and young adults as they transition into adulthood. It was developed because we recognized how few resources were available to meet the ever-changing needs of this demographic. Often what they need is a safe space where they experience support, belonging, and community as they navigate this stage of life. As our society becomes more bifurcated, it can be challenging to find where we "fit."

Anchor Circle was designed to provide support to teens and young adults as they meet the developmental milestones of increased independence and the transition into adulthood. Our groups provide the necessary scaffolding and ongoing support for teens and young adults who struggle with life skills, emotional capacity, healthy coping, and belonging.

Our Approach

With a focus on mental wellness, we aim to empower individuals to embrace their unique journeys, and foster resilience and self-awareness. We see adolescence and early adulthood through a developmental lens, meaning it is an important stage in the lifespan. We believe that how individuals experience turmoil during this life stage will strongly influence their worldview as adults. If they are ill equipped, it will likely have far reaching negative consequences and will impact how their world takes shape. However, if they enter adulthood feeling confident and capable, they will prosper in their ability to have healthier relationships, better self-care and self-awareness, and make healthier decisions that will effect them throughout their lifespan.

While Anchor Circle utilizes a trauma informed lens, it is not a mental health group. Rather, it is a launching pad for developing resilience and clarity around what your young person feels most passionate about. It is a living, fluid roadmap for identifying passions, needs, and boundaries in a supportive, positive, and healthy environment comprised of supportive peers and seasoned mentors.
